Frequently Asked Questions on Postpaid International Roaming

Globe Postpaid plans typically come with roaming pre-activated. However, there are cases where it may be deactivated, such as:

  • If the customer previously requested deactivation

  • For line-only plans

  • For Postpaid plans 599 and below (not pre-activated by default)

If your roaming is deactivated, you may request activation by providing proof of financial capacity (e.g., one-month computerized payslip, certificate of employment, BIR W2, etc.).

Ways to activate roaming:

  • *Dial 143# – This is toll-free both in the Philippines and abroad.

  • Call the Globe Roaming Hotline at +63277301212 – This is also toll-free when using a local number or landline. However, calls made using a Globe mobile number while abroad will incur regular roaming charges.

If you arrive at your destination and cannot connect to a network:

  1. Turn your phone OFF, then turn it back ON to refresh the connection.

  2. Ensure Mobile Data and Data Roaming are turned ON in your phone settings.

  3. If your phone does not automatically connect, manually select a network via your device settings.

For Postpaid customers, roaming is automatically active except for:

  • Corporate-managed accounts

  • Line-only subscriptions

  • Plans 599 and below

With Globe Roam Surf 399, you can enjoy unlimited data roaming in 120+ countries for a flat daily rate of P399.

  • How to activate: Simply turn ON Mobile Data and Data Roaming when you arrive abroad—no need to register.

  • If you don’t want to use data roaming: Switch OFF Mobile Data and Data Roaming in your phone settings.

Note: In selected countries where there is no Roam Surf partner, pay-per-use data roaming (zonal rates) may not be available. Check the list of affected countries here.

An Access Point Name (APN) is a setting that provides all the details your device needs to connect to your provider's network. This connection is what allows you to enjoy all the features offered by your SIM card such as mobile data browsing.

To enjoy seamless data browsing on your phone, your mobile APN should be set to internet.globe.com.ph.

To change your APN, follow these steps:

Steps may vary depending on your device and model.

If you need to call a number in the country you’re visiting:

  • To call a landline: Dial "+" [Country Code] [Area Code] [Landline Number]

  • To call a mobile phone: Dial "+" [Country Code] [Mobile Number]

For travelers in Korea or Japan: You can dial the Area Code + Landline Number or Mobile Number directly—no need to enter the "+" and Country Code.

If you need to call a number outside the country you’re visiting, follow these dialing formats:

Calling a landline in the Philippines:
+63 [Area Code] [Landline Number]

Calling a mobile number in the Philippines:
+63 [Mobile Number]

Calling a landline outside the Philippines:
+ [Country Code] [Area Code] [Landline Number]

Calling a mobile number outside the Philippines:
+ [Country Code] [Mobile Number]

Calling a Globe or other network customer who is also roaming:
+ [Country Code] [Mobile Number]

For travelers in Japan: Use 001010 instead of the "+" before the number (e.g., 001010 63 [Mobile Number]).

To send an international text message, use this format:

"+" [Country Code] [Mobile Number]
Example: +639171234567

If you're not registered to a roaming promo, corresponding zonal rates will follow. Remember that zonal rates apply to all types of roaming calls, whether you called within the roaming country you're in, or called back to the Philippines or called to another country.

Zone 1: P120/minute
Zone 2: P150/minute

To ensure uninterrupted service while overseas:

  • Settle any outstanding balance before leaving. You can also ask a family member to pay for you.

  • Use online banking services like BPI online banking to pay your bill.

  • Download the GlobeOne app to monitor usage, pay bills, and manage your account from anywhere.

Here are a few ways to manage your costs and prevent unexpected charges:

  • Register for a roaming promo via *143# (toll-free abroad).

  • Do not call international toll-free numbers using your Globe mobile—these are only free when dialed from a local landline.

  • Avoid making collect calls using your Globe mobile—roaming charges will still apply.

  • Collect calls are only free when made from a local landline abroad (if the recipient accepts the call).
