Creating a Safer Online Environment
Being constantly online to study, play, and socialize makes children and young adults more vulnerable to sexual exploitation, abuse, identity theft, and cyberbullying, among many other issues plaguing the internet. It is crucial that we equip them and their guardians with practical knowledge to mitigate online risks.
In 2016, Globe joined forces with Optus and Singtel to launch the Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP), helping Filipino youths become responsible online citizens through workshops and e-modules on digital citizenship and online safety. Based on Australia’s Optus Digital Thumbprint in-school program, DTP is now a part of the Department of Education K12 curriculum in public schools.
